How does this website work?Vietnam Travel Plan puts you in charge. You can build your own itinerary using a combination of modules or short trip programmes. We’ve travelled far and wide in Vietnam and constructed our modules from some of the most special places we visited. You can pick and choose the modules that appeal to you most, from hill tribe trekking, to pristine national parks, to wonderful sun kissed beaches. Vietnam has something for everyone. We've chosen as many small-scale hotels and family guesthouses as possible, as we feel their ambience compliments the areas in which you're staying. We'll also string the modules together by arranging your local transport in Vietnam. If you've never been to Vietnam before, or would prefer to see how much you could fit into your holiday, then take a look at our suggested itineraries. Here, we’ve combined a number of modules in a logical order to create longer and more complete itineraries. However, modifications are still possible to these itineraries, for example a day less here, a day longer there etc. Once again, you're in charge. |

Most trips to Vietnam begin in the capital Hanoi. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is one of the liveliest spots in the city. Narrow streets criss-cross each other, and all sorts of products are displayed on the pavement. In the 13th century, each craft guild was given its own street. The system has remained to this day. You’ll find that Shoe Street sells only shoes. There's even a gloomy street dedicated to the making of gravestones. All of the modules in northern Vietnam start from Hanoi. Enjoy a wonderful cruise on a traditional Chinese junk with one of our modules in awe-inspiring Halong Bay. If you're feeling more active, hop on the train and travel north to meet the hill tribes living in a mountain wilderness. After each trip, you'll return to Hanoi for a quick breather before you begin another module. If you're looking for a quick culture fix, we also offer several day trips from Hanoi. The north offers something for everyone and you could easily spend your entire holiday in the region. However, Vietnam has much more to offer. If you have a total of three weeks, we’d suggest spending about 10 days in the north before making your way slowly south. |
Central and South VietnamIf you head south from Hanoi, you’ll come across the historic town of Hué. Culture vultures will be in heaven here, as the town is rich in history. Hoi An is the next stop for a journey south, an enchanting port town bursting with local charm. It's also a great place for a spending spree, with dozens of friendly tailors, lantern shops and art galleries. Nha Trang lies further south from Hoi An. It is a beach resort and the gateway to one of the most beautiful tropical islands in Vietnam- Palm Island. This tiny paradise has only 15 wooden bungalows, ivory beaches, a restaurant, and a small diving school. The ultimate castaway experience. If you’re looking for a more lively beach, you can stay in Mui Ne or on Phu Quoc Island. These both have sparkling beaches, cosy restaurants, bars and cafes. |
