Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc Island

On the first day of your Phu Quoc trip, you'll arrange a taxi from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City to the nearby airport, where you'll take a flight to Phu Quoc Island. On arrival, you'll organise your own transfer to your beach resort hotel on peaceful Ong Lang beach. Both transfers will be very easy to arrange.

Ong Lang is a spectacular stretch of beach lining the west side of Phu Quoc Island, fringed by palm trees providing some welcome shade. From December to June, temperatures can soar, so be sure to bring some sunscreen. Here you can enjoy clear blue skies and calm blue seas; a fantastic place to get away from it all on your Phu Quoc trip.

You'll stay in enchanting and tastefully furnished bungalows during your Phu Quoc trip and there's an excellent restaurant with sparkling sea views for sunset dinners where fresh fish is a regular feature on the menu.

Days 2 and 3: Phu Quoc Island

When you wake up on day two of your Phu Quoc trip, you can simply stretch out on a white sandy beach or rock gently in a hammock under the palm trees with a book. If you're feeling lively, you can swim, or even take a dive to explore the underwater world. There's a diving school on the island, and it's very easy to arrange lessons.

In 2001, almost 70% of Phu Quoc was given National Park status, so the ecosystems on the island have been completely preserved. It is mountainous and almost completely covered in rainforest, with a number of natural springs for a quick refreshing dip. The best known spring on Phu Quoc Island is called the Suoi Da Ban (also called Stony Surface Stream).

On Day three of your Phu Quoc trip, you'll sail to the An Thoi Islands -fifteen tiny land masses that lie off the south coast. This part of your Phu Quoc trip gives you the perfect opportunity to swim, snorkel or simply snooze in the sun. You'll sail on a traditional wooden boat and a tasty lunch of fresh local fish will be served on board.

Day 4: Phu Quoc Island - Ho Chi Minh City

Today, you'll leave your footsteps in the sands of Phu Quoc Island for the last time as your Phu Quoc trip draws to a close. After breakfast, you'll head back to Ho Chi Minh City and the bustle of the mainland. You can easily arrange a transfer to the airport on Phu Quoc Island. From here, the speedy domestic flight back to Ho Chi Minh City takes less than an hour. Of course, you're perfectly welcome to extend Phu Quoc trip. Just let our friendly Vietnam travel specialists know, and they'll make the necessary arrangements on your behalf.

If you’ve been travelling from North to South Vietnam, this is a great way to end your Vietnam trip. We can organise your international flight for you - just ask our Vietnam travel specialists and they'll give you a quote. Or, if Phu Quoc Island is the start of your Vietnam holiday, then we can definitely recommend our Mekong Delta tour as a good introduction to the highlights of South Vietnam.

WARNING: You must not fly within 24 hours of diving.
