How does this website work?Vietnam Travel Plan puts you in charge. You can build your own itinerary using a combination of our short independent Vietnam tours (modules). We’ve travelled far and wide in Vietnam and created our modules using some of our most memorable experiences. You can pick and choose the mini-adventures that appeal to you most, from hill tribe trekking to national parks to sun kissed beaches. We've chosen as many small-scale hotels and family guesthouses as possible, in order to give you an authentic Vietnam experience. We'll also string the modules together by arranging your local transport in Vietnam. If you've never travelled to Vietnam before, or need some help getting started, then take a look at our Vietnam itineraries. Here, we’ve combined a number of our modules in a logical order to create longer and more complete Vietnam holidays. However, modifications are still possible to these itineraries, for example a day less here, a day longer there etc. Once again, you're in charge. |

North VietnamMost travellers to Vietnam begin in the capital Hanoi. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is one of the liveliest spots in the city with narrow streets criss-crossing each other, and lots of local character. All of our North Vietnam tours start in Hanoi. You can enjoy our Halong Bay cruise aboard a traditional Chinese junk or you can hop on the train and travel north to meet the hill tribes living in the mountains surrounding Sapa. After each North Vietnam tour, you'll return to Hanoi for a quick breather before you begin another module. North Vietnam something for everyone and you could easily spend your entire Vietnam holiday here. However, Vietnam has much more to offer. If you more time to spare, we’d suggest spending about 10 days in North Vietnam before making your way slowly south. |
Central and South VietnamIf you head south from Hanoi, you’ll come across the historic town of Hué. Culture vultures will be in heaven here, as the town is rich in history. Hoi An is the next stop for a journey south, an enchanting port town bursting with local charm. It's also a great place for a spending spree, with dozens of friendly tailors, lantern shops and art galleries.Nha Trang lies further south from Hoi An. It is a beach resort and the gateway to one of the most beautiful tropical islands in Vietnam - Palm Island. This tiny paradise has only 15 wooden bungalows, ivory beaches, a restaurant, and a small diving school. The ultimate castaway experience. If you’re looking for a more lively beach, you can stay in Mui Ne or on Phu Quoc Island. These both have sparkling beaches, cosy restaurants, bars and cafes. You can delve into the past of South Vietnam with a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta, both near to cosmopolitan Ho Chi Minh City. The spooky Cu Chi Tunnels played are steeped in dark history, while the Mekong Delta is lush with emerald vegetation. Lazy trips across the Mekong Delta can be easily combined with a stay on exotic Phu Quoc Island, or you can use this route to travel on to Cambodia. |
